STEP 02 / 06

Map data access

Understand what each agent can reach.

An agent may be able to read far more than the information its current task requires. Map the relationship between agents, identities, tools and data so that broad access becomes visible.

What to look for

  • Data stores containing customer records, personal information or intellectual property.
  • Read, write, delete, export and sharing permissions for each identity.
  • Paths through shared folders, APIs and service accounts that extend access indirectly.

A practical example

An agent needs a product catalogue to answer support questions, but its database account can also read customer addresses and billing records. An access map separates the required product data from the unrelated information exposed by the same identity.

The result

A data access map showing which systems and records are reachable, through which tools and credentials, and which permissions exceed the agreed purpose.

A focused aioscope audit helps identify gaps and define next steps. Implementation, ongoing monitoring and any testing are agreed separately within an authorised scope.
